The "Suggest a Tool" feature in ClassCraft AI enables users to suggest ideas for new tools or resources that could revolutionise how teachers work. This feature allows for collaboration by encouraging users to upvote suggestions they find valuable and submit their creative ideas to be considered for development.

This feature is divided into two main sections:

1. Explore Suggestions​

In this section, users can:

  • View all submitted suggestions.
  • Read details about each suggestion, including its title, description, status, and number of upvotes.
  • Support ideas they find useful by upvoting them.

2. Submit a New Suggestion​

In this section, users can:

  • Submit their own ideas for new tools by filling out the title and description fields.
  • Click the Submit Suggestion button to share their idea.

How to Use​

Exploring Suggestions​

  1. Navigate to the Explore Suggestions section.
  2. Browse through the list of existing suggestions.
    • Each suggestion displays the following details:
      • Title: A brief name for the suggestion.
      • Description: A detailed explanation of the tool or feature.
      • Submitted by: The user who submitted the suggestion.
      • Status: Current progress of the idea (e.g., "Under Consideration" or "In Development").
      • Upvotes: The number of users who support this suggestion.
  3. To upvote a suggestion:
    • Click on the thumbs-up icon next to the suggestion. Your vote will be registered, and the upvote count will increase.

Submitting a New Suggestion​

  1. Navigate to the Submit a New Suggestion section.
  2. Enter the following details:
    • Title: Provide a concise name for your idea.
    • Description: Include a detailed explanation of your idea, including its purpose and potential benefits.
  3. Click the Submit Suggestion button to share your idea with the community.

Example Usage​

Scenario: Submitting a Tool Idea​

Goal: You want to recommend a tool that helps teachers create customised quizzes from any text.

  1. Go to the "Recommend a Tool" feature in ClassCraft AI.
  2. In the Submit a New Suggestion section:
    • Enter "Quiz Generator" in the Title field.
    • Enter the following in the Description field:

      "This tool allows teachers to upload or paste a text document. It analyses the text to generate customised multiple-choice quizzes, true/false questions, and short-answer exercises based on the content. Teachers can then export the quiz to H5P format for use in their LMS."

  3. Click Submit Suggestion. Your idea is now visible to other users in the Explore Suggestions section.

Scenario: Upvoting an Existing Idea​

Goal: You find a suggestion for a "Feedback Generator" tool and want to support it.

  1. Go to the Explore Suggestions section.
  2. Locate the suggestion titled "Feedback Generator."
  3. Click the thumbs-up icon. The upvote count will increase, showing your support for the idea.

  • When submitting suggestions, provide as much detail as possible to make your idea clear and compelling.
  • Browse existing suggestions before submitting a new idea to avoid duplicates.
