Crafting Your Content

The Crafting feature in ClassCraft AI allows you to enhance and transform your generated content using AI-powered actions. After generating content with supported tools, you can apply various actions to modify or supplement your material to better suit your teaching needs.

What is Content Crafting?​

Content Crafting allows you to create repeatable, consistent workflows for transforming your generated material. Rather than manually creating the same types of resources week after week, you can establish standardised processes that automatically generate the materials you need.

Think of it as creating your own content production line. For example, you might establish a workflow where every YouTube video becomes a specific type of classroom activity, or every lesson plan automatically generates discussion questions in your preferred format.

When you generate content using supported tools, a "Craft Your Content" section appears below your material, offering a collection of actions tailored to your content type.

Supported Tools​

Crafting actions are available for select tools including:

  • YouTube Transcript Generator - Transform video transcripts into educational materials
  • Lesson Plan Generator - Enhance and modify lesson plans with additional activities
  • Various Resource Generators - Add supplementary materials and activities

Note: Not all tools support crafting. Template-based tools and simple text generators do not include this functionality.

How Actions Work​

Two Types of Actions​

Replace Actions

  • Modify and improve your existing content
  • Your current content is enhanced and updated in place
  • Indicated by a blue refresh icon
  • Best for: Improving content quality or changing format

Supplementary Actions

  • Create additional content alongside your original material
  • Your original content remains unchanged
  • New content appears in a separate section
  • Indicated by a green plus icon
  • Best for: Adding activities, questions, or resources

Tool-Specific Behavior​

YouTube Transcript Tools

  • All actions are supplementary only - no replacement actions available
  • Original transcript is always preserved unchanged
  • New educational materials appear alongside the transcript
  • Perfect for building comprehensive lesson packages around video content

Other Supported Tools

  • Mixed approach depending on the specific action
  • Some actions replace content, others add supplementary materials
  • Check the icon to see which type each action uses

Educational Enhancements​

  • Reframe as Flipped Classroom: Transform lessons into flipped classroom format
  • Convert to Project-Based Lesson: Change lessons into project-based learning format
  • Generate Discussion Questions: Create thought-provoking questions for class discussion
  • Generate Student Reflection Activity: Add activities to help students reflect on their learning

Resource Creation​

  • Add a Case Study: Provide detailed, subject-specific case studies with guiding questions
  • Create Required Resources: Generate supplemental resources based on lesson requirements

The actions shown will vary based on your specific tool and content type.

Using Crafting Actions​

Step 1: Generate Your Initial Content​

  1. Use any supported ClassCraft AI tool to generate your base content
  2. Wait for the content generation to complete
  3. Look for the "Craft Your Content" section that appears below your generated material

Step 2: Choose an Action​

  1. Browse the available action cards in the crafting section
  2. Read the description to understand what each action will do
  3. Check the icon to see if it will replace or supplement your content:
    • Blue refresh icon = Replace your current content
    • Green plus icon = Add new content alongside existing
  4. Click on your desired action card

Step 3: Confirm Your Choice​

A confirmation dialog will appear showing:

  • The action name and what it will do
  • Whether it will replace or create supplementary content
  • A brief explanation of the expected outcome

Click Continue to proceed or Cancel to return to the action selection.

Step 4: Wait for Processing​

  • The AI will process your content and generate the enhanced version
  • You'll see a progress indicator while the action is being completed
  • Processing time varies depending on content length and action complexity

Step 5: Review and Use Your Enhanced Content​

  • For replace actions: Your content editor will update with the new version
  • For supplementary actions: New content appears in a separate section alongside your original
  • Use the download options to export your enhanced content
  • Copy content to clipboard for use in other applications

Exporting Enhanced Content​

Once your content has been crafted, you have several export options:

Download Options​

  • Download Word: Export as a .docx file for editing in Microsoft Word
  • Download PDF: Create a PDF version for sharing or printing
  • Copy Content: Copy formatted text to your clipboard

Export Features​

  • Downloaded files automatically include information about which action was used
  • File names reflect the specific action applied
  • All formatting and structure is preserved in downloads
